I'm alive & today is Day # 99

Sorry I haven't blogged in a while... life getting in the way to blog but here is a quick update:

At the close of today, I will be 99 days sober.

I am sick of the snow.

I leave Saturday for a week vacation in South America.

I am seeing a therapist for my food issues.

I haven't exercised in weeks.

I haven't weighed myself in weeks.

I was just diagnosed with high BP and taking meds for 4 weeks now.  My BP is low now.

I have a 10 K in less than a month and I am not trained but I will run/walk it.

I have a fear of the dentist and haven't been in 3 years.  I had an emergency root canal Monday and going back today for more.

After dinner I read or watch TV to relax.

I have been to many social events and bring my own sparkling water.

I vowed to continue my 100 day Sober Challenge and pledged 180 days.

I took my first into to Photography Class and hope to take lots of picture on vacation with my new camera.

I have the attitude that I will do what I want to relax and stay sober.  I'm not stressing over a dirty house or the little things.

I am happier and don't "scream" like before.

Mornings are more peaceful and sometimes we laugh as a family.

I enjoy dinners w/ the family more now and I think we communicate better.

I can tell I am more present for my children and I think they do too.

Cravings will go away, they don't last forever.

I don't really worry about what people think or what they will say when they notice I am not drinking.

I am nervous about my sobriety on vacation at an all inclusive, with no children and 4 other couples.

Today is day 99 and I will not drink.  I am grateful for my journey and all the people that have supported me along the way.  Tomorrow is Day 100 and I will not drink.

I will take tons of pictures on vacation and if I can secure wifi, I will post an update.

Today is Day 76..... I  have been having these headaches and I am pretty sure it is from being dehydrated.  I was never great at drinking enough water during the day before.  Now I drink some mineral water along with un-sweetened ice tea or regular water but since I no longer consuming lots of wine, I believe I am de-hydrated.  Especially now since it is winter and I am "not thirsty".  They say you should drink half your body weight in water daily.

My goal the next few days is to drink more water and see if the headaches go away.  Today's headache is from late yesterday morning.  I took Motrin 2X yesterday and none today.  They are not migraines but just enough to be annoying and bother me.  If they don't go away I will let my MD know next week at my check up.  I pray they are not related to high BP.  The past year my BP has been slightly elevated and I hope it was from my wine habit.  If it is high next week, it obviously not booze related.

I went to the gym yesterday and I am so out of shape.  I haven't been in a month and the past several months I went maybe 3-6x per month.  It doesn't take long to lose your stamina, especially when you pack on extra weight too.  When I arrived I saw my bestie running on the treadmill.  Then I read on the new goal wall she lifted a new max.  We were always on the same fitness level.  I stopped my negative thoughts about myself nor would I compare myself to her when I stepped on the treadmill. Instead I kept to my plan of brisk walking and wouldn't let it get me down.  The past several months I was in bed, either being lazy or hung over while she was at the gym.  Now I have no excuses.  I completed 4.5 miles and today after work I plan to take the HIIT class which is a max of 30 mins class and walk 2 miles on the treadmill.  I need to start walking and hopefully add run/walk intervals for my 10K in February.  At this rate, I hope I can walk the 10K without dying!

Now off to grab another water bottle........

I had a fabulous sober New Years Eve.  We went to dinner with friends in the City and I laughed so much and all sober! (I swear I almost peed myself~)  I was the only one not drinking... and it was ok, actually great! Everyone was more into the dinner and everyone only had 2 glasses of whatever.  On the way home we stopped at a bar and after 1-2 drinks, we were done.  Too old for that shit~ lol.

Now onto January... cleaning up from the holidays is on tap this weekend and we are supposed to get a little snow tomorrow.  Gosh I would love another day off :-)

I have a 10K race at the end of February... I have not run since May.  My exercise has been so sporadic.  I wrote out a 10K plan on my calendar, now if I could just motivate myself to start training!! Did I mention, I hate running?  I would do anything to get out of dodge for a few days with a few girlfriends even if I have to "run a race".

I decided to make my 100 day challenge into a 180 day challenge.  Belle has signed me up for 180 days of no booze.  Why not, right?  This sobriety thing looks good on me!
